2026 – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources held an awareness lecture on Sunday on healthy environments and their role in cancer prevention, as part of its participation in the “Healthy Environment Against Cancer 2026” campaign launched by the King Hussein Cancer Foundation during September, coinciding with the observance of World Environmental Health Day.

The lecture was delivered by Mais Abu Maileq, a health educator and pharmacist from the King Hussein Cancer Foundation. She highlighted the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles and workplace environments, as well as the role of awareness and preventive practices in reducing disease-related risk factors, thereby contributing to a stronger culture of prevention and safeguarding the health of community members.

The lecture was organized by the Ministry’s Knowledge Management and Innovation Section with the aim of raising employees’ awareness of sound health and environmental practices and enhancing their understanding of environmental factors affecting health and ways to reduce risks that may impact human health. The initiative also supports the adoption of healthy practices in the workplace and in daily life.

The Ministry’s participation in the “Healthy Environment Against Cancer 2026” campaign comes as part of its support for national efforts to raise awareness of the importance of environmental health and strengthen partnerships with national institutions in disseminating awareness messages that contribute to disease prevention and the promotion of public health.
