3 September 2026 – As part of the activities of Digital Empowerment Month, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources held a lecture on Thursday titled “Digital Twins in the Energy Sector – Smart Integration,” delivered by Dr. Khaled Qamhawi of MANIFOLDZ.

The lecture introduced the concept of digital twins and their role in creating digital representations of assets and systems and linking them to real-time operational data. This enables performance monitoring, fault detection, predictive maintenance, improved operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.

The lecture also highlighted the importance of this technology in enhancing the management of asset and project life cycles, reducing costs and risks, and supporting planning and investment, while emphasizing the importance of governance, cybersecurity, and data management to ensure the safe and reliable use of the technology.

At the conclusion of the lecture, Eng. Naima Abu Shamaa, Chairperson of the Digital Transformation Committee, presented Dr. Khaled Qamhawi with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his participation.
