In light of global and regional increases beyond local control, the government is dealing with fuel prices using a gradual approach, so that the full cost is not passed on to citizens and economic sectors.

Price List

  • The Fuel Derivatives Pricing Committee relies on the government's policy of gradualism in reflecting global price increases of fuel derivatives.
  • The government aims to contain the impact of global price increases to limit their direct reflection on citizens and economic sectors.
  • The adjustment to local selling prices for the month of May does not reflect the true costs of global prices.
  • The full global prices were not reflected on gasoline octane 90 and diesel, but only partially.
  • The government continues to compensate for cost differences gradually until global prices stabilize.
  • The government bore direct support on the May pricing of approximately 68 million dinars, in addition to approximately 2.9 million dinars in support for the industrial sector.
  • Continuation of support for the domestic gas cylinder (12.5 kg) and fixing its price at 7 dinars, despite the significant increases witnessed in its global prices.
  • Continuation of fixing the price of kerosene at 550 fils/liter without any increase.
  • The increase in local selling prices does not affect tax revenues, but rather reflects only a part of the global increases.
  • The average price of Brent crude increased to (120) dollars/barrel in April compared to (102) dollars/barrel last March, an increase rate of approximately (17%).

The Fuel Derivatives Pricing Committee announces fuel prices for the coming month of May

April 30, 2026 - The Fuel Derivatives Pricing Committee held its periodic meeting today, Thursday, and reviewed the prices of fuel derivatives during April and compared them with their counterparts last March, which showed continued increases in global prices driven by regional developments.

Based on the government's policy of gradualism in reflecting global price increases of fuel derivatives, which aims to contain these increases and limit their direct impacts on citizens and economic sectors, the committee decided to adjust local selling prices of fuel derivatives for the month of May partially, which does not reflect the true costs of global prices.

The committee confirmed that the government continued the approach followed last month and since the beginning of the regional crisis, as the full global increases were not reflected on local prices, but only part of them was reflected.
It also indicated that the government bore direct support on the May pricing of approximately 68 million dinars, in addition to approximately 2.9 million dinars in support directed to the industrial sector, within the framework of supporting local market stability and productive sectors.
The committee also stated that the average price of Brent crude increased to (120) dollars/barrel in April compared to (102) dollars/barrel last March, an increase rate of approximately (17%).
Pursuant to the decision:
The price of the domestic gas cylinder (12.5 kg) was fixed at 7 dinars without any change, with continued support despite global increases.
The price of kerosene was fixed at 550 fils/liter without any increase.
While the prices of other fuel derivatives became as follows:
Gasoline octane 90: 1000 fils/liter
Gasoline octane 95: 1310 fils/liter
Diesel: 790 fils/liter
The committee also explained that the actual cost of the domestic gas cylinder (12.5 kg) amounted to 12.22 dinars, while its selling price was fixed at 7 dinars.
The committee clarified that the actual costs of fuel derivatives for the month of May amounted to:
1061.3 fils/liter for gasoline octane 90
1147.27 fils/liter for diesel
1128.89 fils/liter for kerosene
The committee also explained that the government did not reflect the full increases on local prices, reflecting only the following percentages:
Approximately 60% of the actual increase on gasoline octane 90
and approximately 16% of the actual increase on diesel
while the price of kerosene was fixed and the increase was fully contained without passing any increase on to citizens.
The committee confirmed that this decision comes within the framework of achieving a balance between actual costs and local prices, in line with government policies aimed at limiting the effects of global price fluctuations, while continuing to compensate for cost differences gradually.
