October 5, 2025 – Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, met today (Sunday) with liaison officers from the energy and mining sectors to review progress reports related to the Economic Modernization Vision (2026–2029) and the achievement rates in both sectors up to the end of September 2025.
Dr. Al-Kharabsheh emphasized the importance of adhering to the targets outlined in the Economic Modernization Vision and maintaining continuous coordination with relevant partners to ensure the completion of required tasks within the specified timelines. He stressed that the energy sector represents a cornerstone in strengthening the national economy and enabling all other sectors.
The Minister also highlighted the vital role of the private sector as a key partner in implementing the Vision’s projects, contributing to economic growth and the realization of sustainable development.
For their part, the liaison officers of the Vision at the Ministry explained that a new model for approved project cards has been adopted, and training is currently underway for sectoral liaison officers on the proper method of completing these cards to ensure data accuracy and expedite follow-up procedures.
It is worth noting that the second executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision for the energy sector includes 28 priorities under 6 initiatives. The activities scheduled for follow-up during September 2025 totaled 50 activities, 80% of which are currently under implementation. The 2025 target for the installation of smart meters has been achieved by 91.3%, and 13 wells have been drilled in the Risha Gas Field (10 wells by the Kuwaiti Drilling Company and 3 wells by the National Petroleum Company).
