Electricity and Rural Electrification Directorate

 The Electricity and Rural Electrification Directorate carry out the following tasks :

• Studying and following up on the implementation of agreements related to licensed electricity generation and distribution companies in the Kingdom.
• Following up on the progress of work in existing electrical interconnection projects between Jordan and neighboring countries.
• Coordination with relevant authorities to enhance electrical interconnection projects with neighboring countries.
• Coordinating with the relevant authorities regarding legislation related to the electricity sector.
• Following up on the necessary general policies related to the electricity sector with all concerned parties.
• Reviewing and developing the principles of delivering electricity to beneficiaries at the expense of the rural fils.
• Implementing and following up on procedures for delivering electricity at the expense of rural fils and according to the approved policy.
• Proceeding in all stages of bidding procedures related to rural fils.
