Government directive to reduce kerosene price by 4 piasters
January 31, 2026 — The Oil Derivatives Pricing Committee announced this Saturday a reduction in the price of kerosene by 4 piasters per liter, to become 550 fils/liter instead of 590 fils/liter, based on a government directive and to alleviate the burden on citizens during the blessed month of Ramadan, which coincides with the winter season.
This came during the committee's monthly meeting to determine the local selling prices of oil derivatives for the period from (February 1–28), reviewing the global prices of crude oil and oil derivatives during the current month of January and comparing them with their counterparts for the previous month of December. The global price averages showed a decrease in the selling prices of both types of gasoline (90 and 95) and stability in diesel prices.
After applying the pricing formula according to global prices to all oil derivatives, the committee found a decrease in the price of Octane 90 gasoline by (20) fils/liter, a decrease in the price of Octane 95 gasoline by (20) fils/liter, and the price of diesel material fixed.
Accordingly, the Oil Derivatives Pricing Committee decided to adjust the selling price of Octane 90 gasoline to become (810) fils/liter instead of (830) fils/liter, the selling price of Octane 95 gasoline to become (1035) fils/liter instead of (1055) fils/liter, the selling price of Octane 98 gasoline to become (1185) fils/liter instead of (1205) fils/liter, and to fix the selling price of diesel at (645) fils/liter.
The committee also decided to maintain the selling price of the domestic gas cylinder (12.5 kg) at (7) dinars/cylinder.
