Kharabsheh Stresses the Importance of Strengthening Jordanian-Saudi Cooperation in Geological Surveys

Cairo, July 16, 2025 – Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh, emphasized the importance of enhancing Jordanian-Saudi cooperation in geological surveying and the exchange of geological data for shared border areas, in a way that supports both countries’ efforts to develop the mining sector.

This came during a meeting between Dr. Kharabsheh and the Saudi Vice Minister for Mining Affairs, Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, held on the sidelines of the Egypt Mining Forum 2025.

The two sides discussed mechanisms for implementing joint geological surveys and activating the exchange of technical information. They also explored the possibility of organizing a networking event that brings together mining companies from both countries to strengthen exploration activities and encourage public-private partnerships.

The meeting was attended by Hisham Al-Zyood, Director of the Geology and Mining Directorate at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, along with members of the Saudi delegation.
